About Dr MICHEL BERNARD

Dr. Michel Bernard completed seven years of medical studies with High Distinction and received the Fleurisse-Mercier Prize (1980) for top of class.

He then specialized in Dermatology at ULB (4 additional years).

After his core training, he travelled to learn through mentorship :

- in Minneapolis (USA) with Dr Thomas ALT for advanced aesthetic techniques (dermabrasion, deep phenol peels, hair grafts, surgical lifting),

- in Wuppertal (Germany) with Prof. Hanekefor dermatologic surgery & microscopy,

- and in Trieste (Italy) with Dr L. Marini for lasers.

Early in his career, he worked closely with Dr Delescluse (mentor for 15 years) and also practiced social medicine.

For the first 15 years he assisted plastic surgeon Dr Y. Walschot in the operating room one day a week (unpaid), expanding his mastery of facial anatomy.

 

As lasers became central to dermatology, he invested in multiple systems and trained in botulinum toxin and hyaluronic-acid fillers, always avoiding unproven or risky techniques (e.g., bovine collagen or semi-permanent products linked to allergic reactions).

His current clinic, built in 2004, is fully equipped with modern technology, an operating room, and numerous lasers.

He also trained himself in medical IT and website creation to support the practice.
